Introduction

"He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust." — Psalm 91:4

In Under the Wings of God, Mzee Mach offers a deeply reverent meditation on grace, human weakness, and unwavering trust in the Creator. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 91:4, the poem journeys through valleys of fear into the assurance of divine shelter, reminding readers that every hope flourishes beneath God's faithful care.

I kneel before Thy mercy-seat,

A child unworthy at Thy feet;

For all I am, and hope to be,

Is found in grace bestowed by Thee.

Without Thy love I am dying away,

Like dew before the break of day;

My strength is weak,

and my heart is frail, But Thee I seek.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil for darkness is spread

Thou spreadest mighty wings; To cover me with true love.

My hopes are seeds now planted in trust,

In lands which Thou dost own;

Thy hand distills the gentle rain,

Each grain is a life."

The flowers blossom in their time, Their fruits declare Sustained by Thy never-failing power; Thy perfect will, That every promise is fulfilled.

What hope have I apart from Thee,

Who formed the earth, the sky, the sea?

What faith could ever brighter shine

Than trusting in a love divine?

O keep me, Lord, till life shall cease;

My Refuge, Shepherd, Joy, and Peace.

My soul shall rest beneath Thy wings, Always safe. Always blessed.
